Who Can Participate
Home Together is designed to create safe, comfortable, and compatible home share matches for everyone involved. As part of that commitment, all applicants go through a screening process that includes:
- A review of criminal history and any pending charges related to crimes against a person or property
- Confirmation that there is no substantiated history of abuse
- Providing at least three references who can speak to your lifestyle, character, and reliability
- If you are seeking housing, this should include a landlord reference when possible
These steps help us ensure that both home providers and home seekers feel confident and secure throughout the matching process. Our team reviews each application thoughtfully and confidentially, and we are happy to answer questions about eligibility before you apply.

We work hard to find strong, compatible matches—but no placement is guaranteed.
Home sharing is a mutual decision. Both participants have the opportunity to meet, ask questions, and decide whether the arrangement feels like the right fit. Taking the time to find a good match is an important part of the process.

Some homeowners are looking for light assistance around the house in addition to a financial contribution. This may include up to approximately 10–12 hours per week of support, such as:
- Light housekeeping
- Grocery shopping or errands

- Pet care
This type of arrangement can make housing more affordable than market-rate options.
Financial Contribution Only
(No Routine Tasks)
Not all home shares involve services. Many homeowners simply want to share their space and receive a financial contribution, without expecting regular assistance.
These arrangements can be a great fit if you’re looking for companionship or added household presence without additional responsibilities.
