Marie Whitaker and Dorothy James Scholarship: Inspiring Action Against Injustice
Delaware County high school students are invited to apply for Media Fellowship House scholarships through February 28. Named in honor of two of MFH’s founding members, these scholarships challenge high school juniors and seniors to reflect on the importance of speaking out against injustice and taking action to build a more equitable society. These core values have guided Media Fellowship House since its founding and continue to shape its work today.

- Awards:
Three high school seniors will receive $1,000 each to support their post-secondary education, and three juniors will be awarded $500 each to assist with application fees for college or vocational programs. - How to Apply:
Students can submit an essay or creative project that reflects their personal journey or ideas on addressing injustice. Submissions are accepted online at mediafellowshiphouse.org/scholarship or via email to scholarship@mediafellowshiphouse.org. - Key Dates:
Applications are due by February 28, 2026, with awardees announced by April 15, 2026. Winners will be honored during MFH’s Annual Award Ceremony in May.
Claire McGeehan Leadership Award: Celebrating Resilience and Service
Established in memory of Claire Dowdy McGeehan, a beloved MFH Board Member and educator, this award recognizes a high school senior who exemplifies resilience, leadership, and a commitment to their community.

- The Award:
One student will receive this prestigious scholarship and be celebrated for their ability to overcome challenges, promote understanding, and serve others. - Nomination Process:
Teachers, mentors, and administrators are encouraged to nominate students by submitting a letter of recommendation and a nomination form. These materials can be submitted online at mediafellowshiphouse.org/claire-mcgeehan-leadership-award or emailed to scholarship@mediafellowshiphouse.org. - Timeline:
Nominations are due by February 28, 2026. Finalists will be invited to participate in interviews in March, with the recipient announced on April 15, 2026, and honored at the May award ceremony.
