Members of the Media Fellowship House staff were honored to attend the Ribbon Cutting Ceremony at the Pennsylvania Institute of Technology (P.I.T.) on Friday, September 12.
We heard inspiring remarks from dignitaries across Delaware County, including:
- Rep. Mary Gay Scanlon, U.S. Representative, PA-05
- Senator Tim Kearney, PA State Senate, 26th District
- Rep. Carol Kazeem, PA House, 159th District
- Rep. Gina Curry, PA House, 164th District
- Dr. Monica Taylor, Chair, Delaware County Council

Additional remarks were shared by a P.I.T. alumna, Marquise Isaac-Rivers (Director of Student Affairs), H. Matthew Myers (PIT President/CEO), and Kamira Evans (Vice President of Student Engagement).
P.I.T. is more than just a college—it’s a lifeline for a remarkable community of students. Over 85% of students are women, many from underserved backgrounds who bring resilience, determination, and hope to their studies. Nearly 70% are 25 or older, proving it’s never too late to chase a dream. More than half balance school with the responsibilities of parenthood, and 96% rely on financial aid, with over 80% receiving Pell Grants.
Recognizing that access to essentials isn’t always easy, P.I.T. has opened the Student C.A.R.E. Center (Community Access to Resources and Essentials). This new center provides free personal care products and baby items to ensure students don’t have to choose between their education and life challenges.
Media Fellowship House is honored to be one of the collection sites for the Student C.A.R.E. Center.
A collection bin is now located on our porch at 302 S. Jackson St., Media.

Together, we can help P.I.T. students access the resources they need to thrive—for themselves, their families, and our community.
