Workshop: Understanding Biases and Telling Your Story

October 22, 2024 @ 6:30 pm 9:00 pm

Our stories connect workshop

How to Hold More Effective 1:1 Conversations

In this immersive 2.5-hour workshop, participants will embark on a journey to master the art of storytelling while gaining a deeper understanding of biases—both conscious and unconscious—that shape our interactions. Designed for adult learners, this workshop equips you with the skills to navigate and engage in meaningful, sometimes uncomfortable, one-on-one conversations. The workshop is divided into two key segments. The first focuses on helping you discover and articulate your own story, enabling you to communicate authentically and effectively. The second segment delves into the complexities of biases, exploring how they influence perceptions and interactions, and providing tools to recognize and address them. This workshop will be co-facilitated by Brian Armstead, MSW and professional storyteller Megan Hicks. This workshop will take place at Park Avenue Community Center in Swarthmore.
