37th Annual Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Commemoration & Spirit Hall of Fame

For over 35 years, Media Fellowship House has partnered with community groups to honor Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., one of America’s greatest Civil Rights leaders. Together with the NAACP Media Area Branch, local houses of worship, and other partners, we are proud to present one of the largest MLK celebrations in our area, ensuring that Dr. King’s legacy and message of justice and equality continue to inspire.
We’re happy to share that the 2026 MLK Event scheduled for Sunday, January 18 will proceed as planned. Roads in Media are clear at this time. We’ll post any additional updates here throughout the day. Please be safe as you travel.

This year, our program focuses on Our Rights, Our Responsibility: Protecting the Promise of the Constitution with a keynote address offered by Vince Stango, Interim President and CEO of the National Constitution Center. The occasion will highlight the induction of remarkable community heroes into the MLK Spirit Hall of Fame, recognizing their outstanding contributions to uplifting constitutional rights.
Vince Stango, Interim President and Chief Executive Officer of the National Constitution Center will present the keynote.
Centro De Apoyo Comunitario, an organization committed to promoting the well-being of immigrants will receive a MLK Spirit Hall of Fame Award.
Martha Hickson, alongside young adult advocates Miranda and Mitchell—leaders in passing the Freedom to Read Act (2024), enacted in New Jersey—will be inducted into the MLK Spirit Hall of Fame.
The MLK Spirit Hall of Fame, launched by MFH in 2018, honors local and national leaders, past and present, who reflect the values of Dr. King. This year, two individuals join a collection of 25 existing inductees who serve as role models for all who find value in their lives, accomplishments and commitment to advocacy for justice.
